Having a reinstatement appeal denied is frustrating, but it does not always mean the case is unresolvable. Understanding what to do next can make a difference in how the case develops from here.
Do Not Submit Another Appeal Right Away
The most common mistake after a denial is submitting another appeal immediately without making any changes. Repeated appeals that do not address the underlying issue are unlikely to produce a different result and can make the process more difficult. Take time to review what may have gone wrong before resubmitting.
Review Google's Response Carefully
Review the denial notice and any related email from Google. Note the profile involved, the restriction identified, and whether Google provides a next step. Do not assume that resubmitting the same explanation and evidence will address an unresolved compliance issue.
Identify the Unresolved Compliance Issue
Compare the profile, business documents, website, and real-world operations with Google's guidelines. Look for a specific mismatch that the first appeal did not resolve:
- The profile name does not match the business's real-world name or documents
- The listed address is not eligible for the way the business serves customers
- The primary category does not accurately describe the business
- The appeal evidence does not match the profile's name, address, or operating model
Gather New, Relevant Evidence
More files are not automatically better. Add evidence that addresses the unresolved issue and matches the profile. Depending on the business model, that may include a business license, utility bill, lease agreement, tax document, storefront signage, or branded service vehicle. Our reinstatement evidence checklist sorts possible evidence by business model and suspension reason.
Understand the Published Review Window
Google's current Business Profile appeal guidance says appeal reviews and decisions can take up to five business days. This is not a guaranteed resolution or restoration time for every case. Google does not state that the same window applies to a separate request for additional review after an initial denial.
Request an Additional Review When Eligible
If the initial appeal was denied and the profile is eligible for an additional review, use Google's denied-appeal review form. Explain what was corrected or what the first review may not have considered, and submit evidence that directly supports that point.
If you need help before submitting, GWR Commerce can compare the profile, supporting records, and cited guidelines to identify inconsistencies and organize the relevant evidence. There is no guarantee of reinstatement because Google makes the final decision.
